Engineers Place 12th at Sprints; Earn Bid to National Championship

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The MIT's heavyweight crew continued its best season in decades with a 12th place finish at the EARC Sprints. After many years of finishing 17th or 18th, the Engineers made the leap to the petite final, relegating such crews as Yale and Princeton to the third-level final. Mixed Results for Tech Heavies at Cochrane and Jablonic Cups

CHICAGO, Ill. - A full day of racing on Chicago's Cal Sag Canal yielded mixed results for MIT's men's heavyweight crew. In their first race - the Cochrane Cup - Tech's varsity boat had one its best races of the year, beating Dartmouth by nine seconds and finishing only 2.8 seconds behind defending national champion and current nationally-ranked No. 1 Wisconsin.
