Men's Gymnastics Wraps Up Season at USAG Nationals

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - With a team total of 178.850, the MIT men's gymnastics team posted a sixth-place finish at last weekend's USAG National Championship hosted by Cornell University. Joshua Coblenz and Brad Sutton placed seventh (45.350) and eighth (45.025), respectively in the all-around, while Coblenz tied for ninth in the still rings (8.400). The Engineers continued to showcase their strength on the vault, posting a team score of 33.000. Coblenz led the way with a mark of 8.400, followed by Matt Heine (8.300), Boris Rasin, Zach Eisenstat (8.025), Sutton (8.000), and Tom Caldwell (8.000). Rasin ranked 12th on the parallel bars (7.500) as Sutton finished in a tie for 12th place on the pommel horse (7.500). Eisenstat tied for 17th on the floor exercise (8.000) while Coblenz posted a mark of 7.300 on the high bar for 18th place. |
