Rasin and Coblenz Compete at NCAA Championship
April 21, 2008
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - For the second year in a row, MIT sent two representatives to the NCAA National Collegiate Men's Gymnastics Championships hosted this past weekend by Stanford University. Boris Rasin made his second trip to the national qualifying round while Joshua Coblenz received his first nod. Last season, Brad Sutton joined Rasin as a participant on the parallel bars while Damian Engen qualified in 2002 on the floor exercise and parallel bars. Competing on the parallel bars, Coblenz captured 35th place with a score of 13.250. He posted the highest finish by a Division III competitor, ranking five spots ahead of his foe from Springfield College. After competing in the all-around last year, Rasin represented the Engineers on the pommel horse, placing 35th with a mark of 12.200. |
