Player Profile

Position:
Head Coach

A recent graduate and former assistant coach at Tufts University, Julie Fox enters her third season at the helm of MIT's softball program. During her two-year coaching stint with the Jumbos, she helped guide the program to two consecutive NESCAC Championship appearances in two years.

Most recently, Fox served as the first base coach for Tufts' national contending program, although the Willow Springs, Ill., native is well familiar with the Cambridge area after serving as one of the region's top players from 2001-04. Fox earned All-New England accolades twice in her career and was named to the NESCAC All-Conference team on three occasions. Winning three league championships during her playing career at Tufts, Fox delivered a game-winning, three-run double to lead the Jumbos to the 2003 conference crown.

Fox's appointment at the Institute marks her second role within the Department of Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation. In 2004, the former Tufts tennis player was an instructor at the Nike Tennis Camp hosted by MIT.
