Sophomore Receives Third Award of the Season

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Leslie Hansen was selected as the NEWMAC Singles Player of the Week after winning both of her matches last week. The sophomore's singles record moved to 12-1 on the year as she picked up her fifth NEWMAC weekly award in her career.

Last Tuesday, Hansen registered a 6-0, 7-5 decision in the Engineers' 6-3 win against Brandeis University. She then defeated Wellesley College's Jen Schwarzkopf, 6-2, 4-6, 6-1, to remain perfect in NEWMAC play as MIT lost, 6-3.

The Engineers will continue their season on the road for the next two weekends. First up will be the NEWITT Tournament hosted by Amherst College followed by the NEWMAC Championship Tournament at Wellesley College.
